SFB Retreat 2015 in Goslar
Program and impressions from the retreat taking place March 23 - 26, 2015.
The third retreat of the SFB 1078 took place in Goslar, which is situated in the Harz Mountains in the heart of Germany. Nearly 60 researchers associated with the SFB 1078 participated in the program. This year, it included an SFB Science Slam with short presentations by the doctoral students as well as SFB Perspective Sessions with talks by the principal investigators on future plans of each research project of the SFB.
After last year's success, the poster sessions were expanded and proved once more to be an excellent opportunity for extensive debates and scientific exchange. The lively discussions continued during hiking tours, a spontaneously organized bonfire, and a visit of the underground mining site Rammelsberg.
The prize for the best talk was shared between Daniel Stöppler (project B1, FMP), Francisco Velazquez Escobar (project B6, TU Berlin), and Tom Resler (project B3, FU Berlin). The prize for the best poster was awarded to Dr. Martin Bommer (project A5, HU Berlin). Congratulations!!!
And thanks to everyone who made this such a rich experience!
