Objectives
What is good scientific practice? The introductory course will cover basic elements of good scientific practice and research integrity and help participants avoid questionable practices and misconduct.
Content
The workshop is based on the curriculum for Good Scientific Practice of the German Research Foundation and the respective statute of Freie Universität Berlin. It includes:
- Basic definitions and regulations regarding good scientific practice
- Data management, documentation and storage / transfer
- Authorship and publications
- Supervision agreements
- Handling misconduct (with an Ombudsperson from Freie Universität Berlin)
Case studies will be analyzed and discussed and tasks assigned for group work. Participants will receive comprehensve information after the workshop.
